Hello everyone! This is my first time posting since joining this platform. I’m interested in connecting with someone who is open to HR mentoring. I’ve been in HR now for about six years and have never had a mentor. I’ve been relying mostly on SHRM and other people in the company for feedback. What do you do to fight burnout? Got a raise yesterday and will get another in September, for dealing with a lot of stuff, but I can't shake the burnout.

How do you properly vet a law firm? I feel the associates I speak with talk up the firm and aren’t always candid.

How do you handle a subordinate that goes around your decision making and goes higher up in the food chain? My boss (and their boss) made it clear I’m supposed to review and provide feedback and yet now they are fully saying no and going around me. I tried talking to them and it didn’t go well and they raised their voice and got rude with me when I was only inquiring. it’s at the point where I need To have a convo with my boss and I feel like the boss needs to set the precedent here

I just started with a company as an HR Generalist. Within the 3 weeks of being there, my boss’s boss left, and today I found out my boss gave notice. HR is not valued at the company and it’s disheartening to know I was hired into a mess. I am now actively looking but how do I explain to other employers why I am actively looking and what do I put on my resume? I have never had to deal with this before.

How have you combated your fear of rejection? I fixate on such small things as when my friends, for example, reject plans I have made. This definitely makes me more averse to putting myself out there and makes me ruminate on past perceived failures, which are clearly not good for personal growth
