If you’ve switched from HR generalist (manager, director, etc.) roles to specialize in something, can you share how you made the switch? Curious how to articulate to potential employers how I’m qualified to specialize rather than be a generalist, if generalist roles are what I have for 6+ years of experience. Thanks!

Has anyone subscribed to Jdhuntr to utilize their job board? I find the idea of paying to access a job board very suspicious since usually job posters are the ones who pay, but if it will increase my chances of getting a great job I’m not against it!
I’ve been in my role since June of 2020 right after graduating college. I truly cannot say enough good things about my manufacturer but lately, as in the last 6ish months, I’ve truly been questioning whether there is more for me here.
As a 23 year old I know I’m more apt to hop or seek out other opportunities so I don’t want to be rash or just “toy around with leaving because I’m bored”. But at this point, I’ve reached my 2nd coaching (first was 4/2021) and it’s clear my role isn’t for me…..
I am hearing a recurring theme in my exits, and I have had this experience myself. Millennial employees (20-30s) including myself, feel pushed into "technical" roles on teams even though we have never expressed this interest or any qualifications for them.
A consultant in Financial Services who found himself being the platform expert even though this was not his passion, not something he studied etc. My own experience was pushed to be the hris expert on the OD team. Anyone else? Is this bias?
Anyone dealt with covid after being fully vaccinated? I have had both doses and now have covid. I feel terrible, have a high fever, and cough that makes it hard to sleep. Tips on balancing work? Corporate associate with two closings this week.

Anything y'all have seen that you like?
I want to move to Portland, Maine. Currently I’m an attorney at a big law firm in Boston. I’m originally from a more rural area though and would like to move to a smaller city with better quality of life. Unfortunately I have zero ties to Maine, other than many weekend trips and constantly looking a Zillow. Does anyone have any information about the Portland legal market? How hard of a sell will this be to employers?
When making a move out of a new firm 3-4 months after joining, do you explain to your references why you’re moving so quickly? Related, does BigLaw call references?
Litigator here. Anybody know how/closed on their own house purchase before? Debating if I can do the closing and title on the purchase or if I should just pay to get it done. Thanks for the help!
Can someone explain to me how more companies in Florida aren’t getting sued, like all of the time? I have lost count of the number of businesses and stories from the past few days of bosses making employees come to work during a hurricane. Some told their, employees, to sleep in the office on air mattresses and dragged their kids in. Like dang, you print junk mail postcards, you can close for a few days, and no one will miss you.
Would you drive a car that costs $135,000? If so, would it mainly be to show your success to your clients?
Is 1850 billable hours in a major market that much busier than 1850 in a non-major market? Specifically for litigation
Anyone else having all their clients have complete meltdowns about Coronavirus and just general issues in their cases? Everyone seems to be freaking out today... it is Friday the 13th after all.
Was asked by my local defense bar to write a quick article on federal question removal - besides writing a boring piece on the obvious removal rules, any ideas on an interesting way to take this? Interesting concepts/cases? Much appreciated.
I am a fresh college graduate and got an offer for the role as Talent Intelligent Analyst.
Anyone who works as Talent Intelligent Analyst under the HR? What is it working like? And does the role demand too much of attention, stress and overload working hours?
Also any tips??
Thank you :)
Saw this job listing today. How insulting.
It’s the end of fiscal.

What’s the thing you’re going to splurge on? I’m feeling a bit stuck. Ever since I’ve started in tech making decent money I’ve always put my family first. I’m so grateful for their efforts that I feel indebted to always be there, I sometimes forget about myself.
Curious… Those in Accounting roles… What have your bonuses looked like throughout your career? Like how much?
I got a bonus this year larger than I ever would have thought ($30k - I’m a Senior Accountant if that helps). And don’t know if that is normal to expect moving forward or if I just got lucky.
My wife wants to switch her job from public sector bank to any good finance related private firm where she can utilise her core banking domain knowledge.

Attending yet another Diversity & Inclusion meeting. The keynote speaker spoke about the anti Asian racism. She then talked about Ahmaud Aubrey shooting + a few other Black people who had been recently shot. She somehow related it to “low income”... but then said “Black African American + Hispanics” I’m so annoyed. I KNEW I should NOT have dialed in.
