It completely depends but we have the same TC and family size and love our life in LA. We feel like we are already on vacation a lot of the time.
Replying to this to say that my spouse and I have similar TC to you and we lived in west LA (Culver City) when we had only 1 kid. We now have 3 kids and live in the valley. We only moved to be closer to my husbands job but that has ceased to be a factor. I highly recommend LA - there are several places you could live on the west side or close by and have a very enjoyable setup. Plus you can’t beat the weather.
Boston is exceptional if you anticipate having a very boring lifestyle. It’s a soulless and stifling place otherwise.

I hear Deloitte is based in Boston and more specifically at Harvard
Go to London where democracy is still alive
Did they move decision to the states when they did this? It is all about convenience, decisions that suited a certain thought process were sold to people as “supreme court giving more power to states”. Make no mistake, the supreme court is the most politicized at this point in decades:

Denver
Amazing outdoor scenery but bad food scene and nonexistent nightlife compared to other cities on this list. Moved from Denver to NYC and only miss the access to skiing/hiking
No Chicago love?

Sry forgot
City or metro?
The answer is very different if you include the suburbs and other areas around it.

Mainline is super nice area outside Philly. Definitely do that over living in the city. Been rough out there recently
Philly Boston Seattle
Chicagoland isn't in your list, but would be ideal for what you want. Access to good jobs for both you and your partner, moderate cost of living, plenty of culture, good suburban options and other things.
LA. By a long shot.

How is Atlanta not on this list?
You mean crime capital Atlanta

Too overpriced right now
Phoenix, no bias 😬
In 10 years the death curve will take those 65+ communities around Phoenix into the event horizon of irrelevance. Stuff will be cheap, but smell faintly of mothballs and soup.
LA/OC. At that TC you can have everything you’d want

DC (well the Maryland or Virginia suburbs) Great schools, diverse, lots of jobs, lots of families, tons to do, close enough to other major cities.

SM1 Yep, can’t go wrong with Arlington, Fairfax, or MoCo. It’s where I’ll probably be setting up roots for my family in a few years.
As a kid, looking back the only two places that would’ve been better to grow up in would be LA or NY and both of those places looking back on it, my parents wouldn’t have been able to maintain the same level of lifestyle we had living in DC.

Philadelphia has best options for the cost of living. With a child I would look at south New Jersey and Main Line area.
I love the physical location of Seattle, beautiful place. but
It really depends what you want
I absolutely love my life in Boston. Excellent place to raise kids and safe. Love the access to skiing, beaches. Downtown is super fun too :)
Of those, New York is the only good one. Seattle is also cool, and so is Boston if you’re white and from around there.
