I’ve seen many partnered people do this by working in a casual mention of their significant other, which I’ve always thought was so clever and works even in a largely virtual work environment. As a single person though, it’s something I’ve struggled to do. What are other ways that you “come out” to co-workers and/or clients from initial introductions (or later on)?

I am so tired of being treated like an assistant and I’m at a loss on how to correct it. I have recovered from Corona Virus. Its 6 weeks now and I can tell you that the after effects are real. I have anxiety that I will never get over the fatigue, brain fog, inability to form sentences and words and headaches which make my work days very difficult to get thru.

I recently accepted a position with a new org. One of the benefits I asked about with offer was the parental leave policy and was told (in writing by HR) 16 weeks paid after 1 year, which is as good as you can hope for in US. Now I’ve been sent the employee handbook to review/sign and it says only 12 weeks, which is less than the org I’m leaving. What might my recourses be to negotiate 16 weeks when the time comes? Also, should I be viewing this is a red flag?
