Spoken like a true man. Lol. Y’all just don’t get it. That’s an empowering term we use to describe ourselves sometimes.
Outside of work - a place where you’re not responsible for someone else’s growth, pay, sanity - 100% agree - a woman that does it all is a boss. At work men and women should take gender out of the equation and help their employees - servant leadership

It reminds me of "you're strong for a girl," or "you're a good female lawyer." Nah, man. I'm strong and I'm a damn good lawyer.

Charge? I think the phrase “girl boss” is cringe worthy.

I don’t disagree and I would suggest you pepper your angus for what’s about to happen.

Salt and pepper on a nice angus steak is CRITICAL

I usually refer to bosses, whether Male or female, by their first name. They usually respond

They say girl boss because that’s the name of a show on Netflix that coined the term. It’s a brand not a dissection of “girl” boss. They say it like this so you can remember the show
Sophia Amoruso founded Nasty Gal and wrote the book Girlboss then was a horrible boss, company went bankrupt, and she sold the brand. Definitely don’t want that sort of context when referring to women leadership, especially if they are great leaders.

I prefer boss baby when I seek to infantilize and flirtingly disrespect leaders - applies to wimminfolk, but can also stretch to those damn millennial managers, directors without beards, anyone more successful than me really.
As a woman I think it’s cringey. But the level/type of cringe depends on the person. If it’s clearly coming from being a little behind the zeitgeist (like they still feel it’s fresh and cool), or a weird personal anxiety over being a woman with power, I think it’s harmless if lame. If it’s a person who is terrible to her subordinates but wants a halo of progressive solidarity and fun, I hate them.
Yeah, I just prefer “boss”

I think a copy on Sophia Amorouso is not for everyone. Remember that “girl boss” tanked her own company

I usually just go with HBIC.
I don’t find the b word anywhere close to as offensive as the n word. The c word is more offensive than the b word, but again, not the same as the n word. That’s a whole different thing.
Lol-ed at “boy boss”
Preach !!! Loathe these labels and books like “ smart is the new pretty”.. like confirming your a new normal and then to another new normal and then another and so on is all that makes women “empowered”. Just go kick ass out there like I am and stand up and speak up !
No one cares - be a “good boss” so anyone will WANT to work for you

Girl Boss - too young, juvenile and inexperienced.
Boss Lady - older, wears pearls, reminds of Janet Yellen.
Boss Babe - just right. *cue Drake meme*
Reminds me of Neyo’s Miss Independent song.
Rising Star
I call mine boss lady

For my own research: does “ma’am”, from a Texan(hits different) also make you feel old?
Rising Star
I (a female) hate the term too but you all are taking it too literally lol
Hahaha I was in dollar tree and they had no lady boss / non gendered boss signs, but did have a BRIGHT PURPLE "girl boss" sign. I bought 2 😂 wfh with a 2 year old I have to get motivated somehow! As long as they don't make you call them girl boss who cares? Ppl have different ways of branding / self motivation
You should be, woke boss

Coz of that Netflix show girl boss lol
