A bunch of VC backed companies recently approached me to do part time consulting work. What would be a top rate to charge for product consulting? Do people usually charge per hour or bid a project? I’m new to this, so any advice is greatly appreciated. Also, do people ask for small equity just to have upside?

I graduated in May of 22. I transitioned from being an intern to being a full time counselor, now for 6 months. I feel like I might be catching my agency at a tough time, but as an employee it doesn’t seem to be trying anything to keep me here besides the occasional ‘motivational’ posts from the administrative team. Been welding for my company for 13+ yrs and I think it’s time for a change. The culture has completely changed and became toxic.
