The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?

Who wants to get paid and refer me to Deloitte?

Oh god you are the same guy who posted about the coffee. Go, take it. Then post about how you are non-target.
Never take roles you feel you're prepared for, always stretch to the edge of your abilities, that's how ya get places in life. Take the role. You can always go back to consulting.
Fuck school. Take the job. Sounds like an awesome opportunity.
Exactly, there's no downside. If you want to go to b school you can always do it after two years at a VC.
OP what you're missing is that credentials on paper is only part of the equation. If the Partner is making you a legit offer it means he sees something in you and is confident you could do the job.
The zone of learning always happens when there is discomfort. It pushes you to stretch beyond current capabilities. Have an honest conversation with the Partner about support that would be available as you get up to speed. And when you tell Deloitte make sure you let them know that this is an opportunity you can't pass up but would love to keep the door open with them.
And please type faster next time
Yea you should just kill yourself now and get it over with, you non-target POS
Take the VC interview. Deloitte isn't going anywhere.
OP if he didn't think you were a good fit he would not have offered you the position. Most of these opportunities come from networking and being in the right place at the right time. I obviously don't know 1) what your long term interests are, 2) your age, 3) your technical ability and 4) how good the fund is but if you have any interest in tech/startups and are young enough to have some runway to go for it and fail and start over (worst case)- don't self-select yourself out!!!! You never want to close doors on great opportunities.

Take it. Deloitte is always there. VC is cool and hard to break into, even with a strong background
VC also looks great on a resume for b school if that's on your list...it actually sounds really low risk
I'm conflicted as to what to do next. I went to a non-target and feel blessed just to have made it as far as I did, but VC field seems like a whole different league altogether
Same guy. Thought he was an Associate but just made Partner
But then again, I told you not to wear a suit and you did and got the offer so what do I know. Haha.
Haha. Is it the same OP who went to coffee in a suit and forgot his wallet?
There is a level of success where an M7 MBA does you no good. I'd take it if you want to get into Finance in the long term. If your swimming ok at Deloitte, then you'll probably do at least ok at a VC. If Deloitte Digital's wheelhouse, whatever that is (ERP implementation or whatever) is what you want to do for your career, then do it.
Yes, faster plz
And my response to him was that I need to find my own path and possibly pursue a MBA from a top school before I make a move like that. Should I just say fuck it and go work for him first or try to get better and stronger qualifications first?
Take it
