I mean yeah it’s not for like 80%+ people who join Big 4. There are certainly reasons to stick with it though - mainly the buckets of money.

I am well aware. But this convo is about why people stay, and that is the reason why they stay. Speaking as someone who is likely going to boomarang back in the next year.
I see quite a few SMs around here that might be making good TC in Tier1 locations, but also don’t seem to have much of a balanced personal life.

Im at a boutique and even the partner doesn’t work more than 55 hours a week. I do barely 40. It’s a cushy job with some sweet exit opps. There’s no secret, simply the lack of bullshit bureaucracy that’s rife in the larger firms. At our firm, we do away with anything internal that gets in the way of delivery and try to be super efficient.
