Am I underpaid?

I'm an assistant finance director for a local government in a LCOL area. I have almost 5 years of experience in local government accounting, all with the same agency. When I got promoted to assistant finance director earlier this year, I was offered an annual salary of $69k and accepted.

After being in this position for several months, I'm wondering if I should have negotiated a higher salary. I'd love to hear other's thoughts and salaries in similar positions for comparison.

Been seeing a ton of V10 (NY white shoe) —> Cooley/Fenwick/Gunderson laterals recently in my network (including Wachtell). What gives? Why those specific firms over, say, WSGR and Goodwin?

I once called someone in the 'C' suite out for being completely disorganized. I followed it up by offering project management advice. The conversation got pretty heated. I’m literally so miserable in industry. I have been at it a few years and it’s boring. My boss likes to act like every minor issue is a 10 when it’s a 3 and creates emergencies where there aren’t any.
