Please evaluate this initial offer for Apple ICT3. I think I was low balled, but I want to take more opinions. Currently Sr. MTS at VMware, received Apple ICT3. I was expecting to get to ICT4 but seems like team thinks upper end of ICT3 is more apt. Also, I think it is because I don’t have any counter offers yet.

For real. Every time an agency goes through layoffs people on here act like it’s the Hindenburg. It’s a part of this biz. Get over it. All these people will bounce back and get other jobs. Stop taking yourself and this industry so seriously.
Copywriter 1, as an ad guy you actually need to build a safety fund, ideally six months to a year’s expenses, because it’s not a surprise that at some point you’re likely to get laid off. It will make staying calm easier and also give you time to seek a better new job.

It’s just annoying this is how it works. This is seriously such a rich person industry. If I got laid off right now I’d be so fucked without steady income. Student loans and no rich parents means no savings. Every time I read these things I get so much anxiety.

@OM I’ve never seen dry spells like this current market and I guarantee neither have you. CDs are begging for work after being out of work for 8 months. You can’t save if the jobs aren’t there to earn the money that allows you to do so
@OP Sorry to hear folks are going through a tough time in there. Having been in a similar situation, I am tired of everyone saying it’s part of the agency model. I’ve never heard of a model that treats hard-working, loyal workers with such disrespect. Being full-time at an agency is far less stable than being a contractor client side. For what it’s worth, y’all will end up somewhere amazing. Ideally not at another agency, because who wants the stress of that again.

Acd, I have 3 kids and have been in this biz 35 years. And I’ve always had safety money, less when I was young and single, more when older and had overhead. It’s scary, really scary, but use that fear to motivate you to save
