Most advice from here is likely to fall into three buckets:
1) loads of good CV advice available online and I’d be surprised if not something internal at McKinsey too. Should be one page and sharp. Try to tailor language and content for the industry you are applying to, if not every single job.
2) Network, you are significantly more likely to get interview with a recommendation. Are you reaching out to people at the companies you are applying to?
3) Are you applying for the right jobs? I sometimes feel MBB consultants think they can be CEO after two years consulting. Yes these are great companies we work for but if you are getting zero interviews there seems to be a good chance you are aiming at the wrong exits. (Could also be roles that are too technical for a generalist, rather than roles that are too senior.)

Some context I have 8 YOE; 2 of which are in consulting. I joined consulting after 6.5 years in industry and I don't have an MBA

Get a professional to do your cv? Have someone at McKinsey look at your CV.
BCG1 got it right and I would strongly look at whether you are applying for the right exits.
Honestly, when I look at a resume I don’t care much about how polished the resume is. I’m more interested to see if the resume is relevant for the job by looking at the content of the job experiences and the companies you worked for.
That’s said, I don’t do the initial HR screens. The list I look at is already curated but I doubt if you have the right experience / prior experiences that you would be eliminated by the HR screen.
