FDD 🐠 I will be promoted to audit SM in October, however looking to transfer to the FDD practice. Based on discussions with partners in the practice, I would be brought in as an experienced manager with opportunity to promote to senior manager in FDD next year. Is the learning curve steep, or should I push to come in as SM? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Got hired 3 years ago- newly created staff accountant role with the plan that it’ll go into a senior and then manager role. 1.5 years in I get a title promotion to senior, told I’ll get more duties, start supervising AP, and get monetary promotion to match next year. Got way more work, but nothing else promised within that year. Told next money bump would be manager role (no raise for senior still) and I need to take on more and start supervising AP. Again, seeing nothing…time to leave?

Hi, I just passed the bar exam! I am planning on starting my own firm and will start off practicing trademark registrations. What are some tips you have for starting off with trademark registration practice.

Are therapists typically blunt? I just started seeing one and she made me feel uncomfortable. I wasn’t expecting her to be harsh and negative in her assessment of me.

It’s been 5 weeks and I haven’t gone a day or night without crying and feeling haunted by them. I can’t eat, can’t sleep, can’t produce quality work, can’t find joy in anything I previously loved. This is the worst physical and psychological pain I’ve ever experienced.

Well, I was the one who broke it off. I couldn’t get him to love me the way I needed or even respect me enough. It’s been 6 weeks of not seeing each other. We messaged this week. He doesn’t get it…. Sanity check. I like a nice lifestyle. Currently make 350-550k with bonus. 53 years old. About 400k in brokerage. Another 1.9million in retirement accounts. House worth 1.2 million with loan of 625k. For retirement pension will be $2400 per mo which goes to my wife if I die for life. Another 3800k Per month estimated from Social Security. I plan on working another 10 years or so maybe less once the kids graduate college. I am this will be out in 2024. What should I be doing or thinking about? 

I’ve been approached outside the firm for a number of roles and take interviews for the practice. Today a start up SaaS company called and when i gave my base salary expectation (which i thought would be wildly out of range) it was not even a flinch and “well within range” no wonder there’s a staffing shortage at pwc, these guys are throwing money at us, and I’m in marketing!!!!!
