McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hello fishes. I'm a final year student from a tier 2 college. Under some fortunate/unfortunate circumstances, I got placed at a startup, associate consultant role (tech consulting). That rules me out of placement session till 80% batch gets placed. I was targeting big 3/4, to which I can't apply as they're here rn. Could you guys please give me some referals for big 3/4? Any good sushi “bento boxes” for delivery?
Hi Sharks,
Anyone faced below issue?

Congratulations on your transitioning. I recommend registering with Pesi. Their CEU’s and materials are beneficial. Once you register they’ll keep you updated in the field. Welcome to the field, it’s busy yet rewarding.
Thank you! I will check it out!
I’m curious who you are consulting with and what type of information are you expecting to provide? Obviously, you should have the new DSM-5-tr. There are so many helpful books, but recommendations would be based on populations being served.
Thank you for all these suggestions! Definitely gave me lots of interesting topics to look further into!
Hi there! I was recommended the book Integrated Behavioral Health in Primary Care: Step-by-step Guidance for Assessment and Intervention. I think it's available on Amazon.
Thank you! Just curious, are you also a BHC and how do you like it?:)
Hi. Interestingly enough, I’m looking to possibly switch into school based counseling. May I ask why you are switching out of it? Pros and cons? I was thinking the schedule of schools would provide a better work life balance? Less overall pressure of having to deal with back to back sessions with adults, etc? Would appreciate any insights on school based counseling. Thanks
Hi there! I’ve had a really good experience with school based counseling, yes the hours are really good because it’s typical school hours and any days that the students are off on break so are we (for the most part, sometimes I work from home because I work through a non profit) and it does provide for good work life balance as I never had to work on weekends or evenings. For the most part, I get to coordinate with the students teachers and I can schedule students whenever during the school week so I can build in little breaks throughout my day as needed. (Which I will miss!) but right now I’m looking to make the switch as I am still early in my career and want to experience a new setting. Also it seems that my salary has reached its max at this current setting. The BHC position offers me over 10k more in salary and also has more PTO and some money set aside for professional development. It will require me to work one Saturday a month and one evening a week. I’m only 3 years into working with my MSW and I don’t have any kids so at this time I’m willing to let go of the convenient schedule of school based. I’m hoping I also love the clinic based setting but I would not be opposed to returning to school based in the future. Hope that helps, and I would love to hear about your experience!
How did you get your lcsw hours?
