Hang in there. Remember always why you are there.....certainly not for the Principal. Be accountable to the kids you teach. (I know that someday, they will grow and mature and remember/or forget how I contributed to the person they became- many do let you know later on.) Know that Principals come and go, teachers hold the true power if they stick around, despite lousy administrators.
I had a principal who was like this to my colleagues for 7 years before he got to me. When I had enough, I went out on 3 weeks of stress leave and sought work related stress therapy. It was a 6 series class that I took in a group. It was awesome to relearn the strategies needed to set boundaries and communicate clearly.
* This was the first time in my 22 year career I consulted the union. They were useless.
