See if the flight path typically runs on schedule. Otherwise, it’s not bad. My old schedule was day trips on the east coast. The only caveat is that coordinating travel like that can actually be really tiring. More so than the hotel stays. Plan for it but see if there’s flexibility throughout the contract to either fly home or do hotel for when you need it
You could get membership to a private plane network that operates in Cali. I used one when I was doing PE in LA.
Had a client who did it for two years (was newly married and being home each night was important for them). See no reason why it’s not possible: have done day turns a lot—coffee & paper on the way down, beer & email on the way back.
Why would you do this? 😨 What about time to eat dinner, work out, decompress? I get the desire to be home, but it sounds like it would be tough on your body’s rhythms.
EY - because I’m one of the odd ducks that finds airports and planes relaxing. The minute the engines start to hum, I’m passed out. Doesn’t matter if the flight is 30 minutes or 8 hours
SFO - LAX is delayed often so I wouldn’t take my chances doing it on he daily
Know a Director who did this between MIA and TPA for two years
