How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. I work on a consulting team at a large software company. I’m a job hopper, around 2 years each at my first and second jobs and a little over a year at this job. I recently found out they’re shutting my team down. We’re not fired, but they’re transferring us to the core implementation team, which has a horrible reputation for malignancy, overworking, and isn’t at all what I was hired to do. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? For those of you who left the Midwest for a FAANG company like Apple… was the move to CA worth it? Have an opportunity and it’s just really difficult wrapping my head around the cost and standard of living, being far from friends and family, etc.

I'm in salary negotiations for a great role, but there's a small gap (~$10k) to even match my old salary. They have most of the obvious benefits like unlim. vacation, low healthcare premiums, 401k matching, permanent WFH, etc.
