My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition. I am currently a civil engineer thinking of switching to software engineering. I got my masters in water resource engineering where I was coding a decent amount for assignments and it has really stuck with me. Unfortunately, in my current role and field (civil), I don’t really get to do much coding. Does anyone have a similar experience of jumping ship to do software engineering? I had cleared all the rounds in S&P and had salary discussion 1.5 month back. The HR is always saying the management is on leave and will soon get the approval and release offer. What’s your worst experience with a senior? (As an associate)

I’m getting put up for manager a year early. I have PPMD ,SM, and M support. Pretty much support from all the key individuals on my team and in my service line. Since it is a year early if i don’t get promoted this round I know it’ll come mid year but I do expect a good salary increase still without the promo. If I don’t get the promo nor a salary increase that I’m okay with, how do I let my partner know that I will begin to entertain outside offers? some of which have offered the manager role.
