I thought I was the only one. I swear they can tell I’m passing out in those early morning meetings
Same here!
Drink lots of water so your mind is alert and focused on wondering when the meeting will end so you can run to the bathroom.
I’ve been in this scenario you’re right lol
Snow white
“oh you drink redbull?” *rips gator tail* “I remember when I was a b!tch”
Honestly it might be an attention span issue more so than an alertness level issue. I started using stress balls + non-fidget spinner focus toys during meetings and I immediately noticed I didn’t feel tired now that I had something to do.
it’s all about fighting the urge to go on screensaver
Sounds like you shouldn’t be in the meeting. If you’re falling asleep it means you’re not adding value.
I struggle with this a lot… the main cause I have identified is that the meetings aren’t interesting or challenging enough to keep me engaged.
1. Playing a more active role: notes, questions, responding, etc
2. Mid-day naps
3. Water
4. Stretching/Moving as much as possible
5. ADHD meds have been a game changer for me
ADHD meds 👍🏽
If virtual, get up and move around / do some stretches to get the blood moving
Massively recommend standing desks.
Take notes. Even when you don’t have to. I have a really tough time just paying attention, especially when cameras are off. I think it’s easier to have something to do while people are talking, plus if someone asks a question ab the meeting you’ll have answers
I guess you’ll just have to start abusing stimulants 🤷🏼♂️
Probably still more sleep…
Have you gotten blood tested? Could be a B12 deficiency. It runs in my family so I’ve started taking supplements and it really helps
Yeah B12 and D3 levels were things I’ve improved and are in normal ranges
Also you can have a good diet but if you’re on a deficit, you’re still going to be tired. Upping calories might help. Don’t forget your brain runs on glucose so it’s ok to have a chocolate once in a while if you’re hitting the wall
Yeah I was in a well tracked surplus w/ adequate macros in the winter and still was having issues. But to both you’re points I’ll be more wary with the deficit I’ve recently begun
Standing desk, whenever I start to get tired I switch to standing and it gives me another wave of energy.
When in doubt, Beez it out. A combination of Burt’s Bees chapstick under the eyes and a fat horseshoe of peppermint gum has given me an extra boost more times than I’m proud to admit.
Haha I’ve been using Burt’s but never under the eyes thanks. Beezing it out might save me
❄️❄️❄️❄️
Buy a standing desk and mini walking treadmill!!
I’m not sure what type of caffeine you take, I been trying Huel - Caffe Latte flavor gives me a boost in term of staying awake. For the eyes, the screen hurts a lot - dim your screen to night mode to ease the eyes & wear blue light glasses.
