Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.
Could you please help me by sharing your review (if u have worked or working) for the below companies. Salary is almost same (Senior Test Automation Position) but I am not aware of company culture or wlb. Any help would be much appreciated. 1-> Genpact 2-> Standard chartered gbs 3->Siemens 4->GlobalLogic Thanks in Advance #genpact #standardcharterd #siemens #globalligic

Hi! I currently am Councel in-house for a general contractor. I support procurement/supplier POs/T&Cs/NDAs/change orders/claims. My work-life balance is pretty great because there really is no expectation to work weekends apart from, of course, something being due by Monday morning. I don't currently have spouse/kids but the folks who do, have the flexibility they need to take care of things at home. I believe that WLB in-house can depend on the company, because at Amazon, you probably will feel like you're at a firm, but there lots of great places to work in the space you're looking.
I’ve just done this. I’m 4PQE, based in London and 6 months into leaving M&A for an in house counsel position, where I do a lot of commercial contracts.
I now work 9-5:30 and get to do nursery drop off and pick up my 2 year old 3/4 times a week. It’s been the best decision I have made in years. My happiness has gone through the roof and I have absolutely zero work-related stress.
I would say I do about 30/40% of the amount of work I previously did, but the (minor) boredom is a tiny price to pay for the move and I’d make the same decision again 100 times over.
