Sue. They will settle out of court. No one ever needs to know.
Lawyer here with previous Employment law experience. Contact a good AV rated employment law attorney or one on qualified referral from someone you trust with previous experience with the attorney. 9.9 times out of 10 these are settled with NDAs. It's pure economics most of the time. Cheaper to settle than to defend and suffer harm to brand. If it's "not about the money" then direct the attorney to contribute your percentage to a women's rights charity.
Not right forum. Please consult an employment lawyer and many of them offer free consultations and even take on as a settlement share agreement.

LAWYER is what she needs and the company will not even drag it to court and in most cases do out of court settlement to save their image and reputation.
Also yes you can be fired for going over maternity leave without permission. Most have provisions to go on disability if extra leave is required .
There was no violation, the company actually has a generous 6 month allowance

I don’t support the employer here. It just leaves them lots of latitude to find something else....
