Pretty strict I think. You need to be able to work very independently.
Yea most LCS attorneys are significantly more senior than 6 years. They operate independently and with very little guidance from the associate and shareholders on the matters in terms of how to do something.
I’m at Littler (level 2) which is a third year. I was told by attorney development that I could take an LCS role if I wanted it. I get I already work here but I think it’s worth applying if it’s something you want to do. Worse thing that could happen is your still in the same position your in now. Also look at Seyfarth. They are actively recruiting for a remote hourly role.
Not sure what Littller’s CaseSmart program entails; however, as a business owner, I am guessing that they are looking for attorneys who are capable of working independently AND continuing to meet the billing requirements. Your post says that you need to deal with family life. I empathize I’ve had to deal with a lot of that in the last year and a half. That said you may need to rethink where you are and what you want to do in your career at this point as a fourth year attorney. Are there other options available to you to help balance the load so that you can continue the level of commitment to Littler that you need to excel at your job? Are the worklife issues non-delegable or are these issues more of a preference? Best of luck.
