I’m accustomed to keeping my students’ IEP folders in my classroom & being held responsible for their safekeeping. Now in a new district, I found that the Case Manager keeps all district IEPs in her office. We have to submit our updates & progress notes to her. And we have to make a planning period appointment with her to come look at any IEP folders. How does your district deal with IEP folder custody?

What kind of behavior systems do you use in your classroom? I teach 1st grade. I’m tired of using the folder/calendar system with 🙂/🙁 and a prize box. Any ideas?

I’ve been daydreaming of a community loom in the school or classroom. Has anyone done this or have any tips? I’m wondering if people will want to participate or take the materials and “redecorate””.

Does anyone use Google Classroom for ECSE ? I was supposed to have it up and running by Thursday. Luckily, all of my kiddos came. I didn’t take the workshop this summer and the person that gave a brief overview last week talked so fast that I couldn’t understand what was being said.

My concern is that here in Indiana, I have taught in 3 different districts over 21 years in traditional high schools & have not ever had a student teacher or Practicum observer in my computer lab classroom. The last school I left for my current career center dropped the computer science courses I spent 10 years building and refining all together. No qualified CTE teachers available. 🤷‍♂️

Confused if parents want schools to reopen or not? What era/genre would you say we're living in right now?

I feel like we're affected more than anyone else (except maybe history teachers) by the censorship and critical theory debate. Dealing with books coming on and off the banned list and angry parent emails over curriculum I don't have control over was especially frustrating this year.
