Anyone who has worked in IT-audit? What was your experience? I was laid off Deloitte forensics and got an offer to Kpmg IT-risk service line, with higher pay. I don’t care so much for “interesting & challenging projects”. Pros and cons are welcome.

IT Audit is great, good WLB, great pay, and very standard work. I'm very similar in the "don't need fun, just want a paycheck" employee mindset, so IT and IA have been good for me!

like

Good area to work in IMO. Pretty consistent scope across clients makes the challenges easier to overcome when you’ve got a lot of work.

like

IT risk at kpmg is pretty chill overall, consistent work that's a lot more clear cut tbh. I would go for it really.

I'm an IT Audit partner in the B4. You can make a good career for yourself and be as involved in "interesting projects" as much or as little as you want to be. Every one of the B4 is understaffed in this area. I'm not with KPMG, but have worked with them in a few major cities. They do good work. One of my friends is a partner in their IT Risk practice and we compare notes - the last time we talked, they were busy but not crazy. Good luck!

Thanks for the input!

I've heard good things about kpmg IT Risk in general. I'm sure each office has its own culture though

like

KPMG IT risk was chill AF out of NYO. Understaffed and stressed in many other offices. Otherwise, yeah, they were mostly a solid group to be in, speaking from experience.

IT Audit has been a great experience for me for the past two years. Really good pay, laid back and wlb is awesome.

OP, just so you know, KPMG IT Audit is called Tech Assurance. I’m not familiar with the IT-Risk service line but that would be in our Advisory branch.

Did you get a good offer as an IT Audit? It is pretty a laid back job So you will not be stressed as much. However there will be seasons where your work will be a handful bust most of the time it's chill.

They stated 120k+ is extremely high for that role. What do you guys think? Playing the game?

Any insight on negotiating Westlaw or transitioning to lexis?
