It’s easier to get into Harvard than work for Deloitte
That’s such a funny slide to promote to new hires lol. I guarantee if you had standardized that sample size evenly between Harvard and Deloitte, you’d find a very noticeable difference. Those stats really distort things to try and make you feel “special” and lucky to be there (so they can then overwork and underpay you).
I work at a boutique where we’ll easily get well over 200+ resumes for a new role we post on LinkedIn. Does that mean we have a 0.5% acceptance rate? And does that mean we’re extremely elite? No.....
Target Schools it's a cake walk. Non-target school get your boxing gloves ready
Did you guys not get to do the case interviews? Is accounting interview easier than consulting?
I think it depends a lot on the school that’s being recruited. If you’re coming from say USC, you’ll most likely get an offer (75% of kids who want big 4 get an offer) versus coming for let’s say Cal State Long Beach where you might get 2-3 kids who get full time offers (5% of kids who want big 4 get an offer). So it’s easy if you set yourself up for it to be easy but hard if you’re not setting yourself up for it, if that makes sense.
I can confirm this is 100% coming from Cal state Long Beach. It is very difficult to even get an interview since we don’t have recruiters on campus and have to rely on alumni network for an opportunity. But, I graduated with $4k in student loan instead of $100k.
I went to a very small school in CT and got in rather quickly
