I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

I've been interviewing with some companies, and now I have to decide between JPMorgan Chase and Globant.
Globant is more innovative, and has remote work. I will enter to work with a Sillicon Valley startup based in San Francisco. The tech stack is React, Nextjs, AWS, and a serverless architecture.
JPM is semi remote, and less innovative. The tech stack Java, SpringBoot and AWS. But I'd do more migration tasks, like dockerize projects and pass them to kubernetes. What would you choose?
Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Someone say Fannie Mae?
Nope, no layoffs. They did eliminate a few senior-level positions back in September though.
Controllers, enterprise architecture, the heads of SF and cap mkts, etc. not sure why, but I can only assume it has to do with them going lean on leadership that wasn’t as essential but still got paid big money.
Extremely unlikely. Fannie and Freddie are both busier than ever, although their scorecard (how business they can do each year) was just reduced for 2021, so that might be part of it?
EDIT: the more I think about it the less I think that’s the case. The scorecard was only released a day or two ago, I’m not sure they would have made lay-off decisions in that time
Cool! Thanks mate!
Well i know they are hiring
