Landed a contract role at Deloitte via MBO Partners for an audit senior role. MBO is making me a W-2 employee for MBO, but I am getting paid $125/hour plus overtime. Am I missing something here or am I about to be making $5K/week (or more with OT)? Anyone have any experience with MBO or doing contract work like this? Hello, hoping for some input on how to time a job change. At a startup - we are doing well now but unless we have complete turnover in management I don’t think we have a bright future post-COVID. I could coast here 1-2 years before having to look. I’ve been here for a little under a year. This is my second in house job after 10 years at the same firm. The market is hot now, probably won’t be in 1-2 years and I am getting interest for good roles. OTOH I don’t want to look like a job hopper.

At what point are you too specialized to lateral to internal audit? (PA, consulting, or industry roles) Currently have 2 years of external audit experience and 2 years of forensics: I always thought of internal audit as a decent exit but I’m beginning to get worried about getting too specialized to make that move one day

What are exit opportunities for people in TAS? Is it much more limited than audit exit opportunities?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Discussion post: I feel almost all consulting firms are the same. Mbb, big 4 etc. if you are paid enough there is probably less wlb. If there is good wlb there is not much money. Can you single out a company that you can confidently say pays very well and also has good wlb and also has good opportunities etc.?
