Wow so you are actually penalized for using vacation days?

like

OP, I don't think anyone's going to have 100% utilization targets 🤣

likefunny

Holiday hours are not counted in the denominator for utilization calculations

like

@OP - correct. When you are on the bench they encourage you to use your vacation so it doesn’t hit your utilization

like

Pto is excluded from the denominator too. At least in acn

like

Our utilization targets aren’t 100% tho. For seniors it’s 85%

like

45-50hrs/wk caps. Just in case I want to roll off a project and chill for a while

like

So you actually charge extra time? That must be nice... I’ve been in consulting for 6 years and never charged anything different from 8 hrs

like

At IBM they both hurt you

No. Denominator is a fixed # of hours (2080 for deloitte)

Yes we do

Yep. Vacation and holidays are excluded at capgemini?

I have 107%

D1, seems 107% reasonable 😁 why so high?

A1 - for projects in my area, 45 is the expected.

45 is standard

Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this? My target promotion year on TOD is 2022. My manager said we might sell to client and extend this project in September but nothing guaranteed.

What are ways to get more vacation time?

I’m feeling a little suffocated with the standard two weeks with all my family events this year.

Planning a trip to Rome and Naples with day trips to Tivoli and Pompeii. Is 1 week enough? I feel like reading through 3/4 day Rome and 2 day Naples itineraries, the trip seems rushed. I have unlimited PTO but my SO is limited in time (but luckily he can work extra hrs and then use less PTO). I would say max we could do is 1.5 weeks but adding on 3-5 more days seems almost too much? Thoughts? For reference, I did Venice-Florence-Rome in a week and it seemed okay but it also wasn’t as planned out

Looking to do informational interviews and try to network my way in, as I feel the barrier to entry was much harder than anticipated. Anything helps, thank you so much!

My typical cycle length is 23-24 days. We have been TTC for almost 2 years and I am wondering if my cycle length has got to do anything with this. We have been through two different REs and did not get a firm diagnosis. Have tried timed intercourse and IUIs. Nothing has worker so far. Was just wondering if cycle length has gotten anything to do with fertility. Any stories of success with short cycles?

Has anyone here participated in the year long remote year program? My company is fully remote in the US and is in general supportive of me going but concerned about local and international tax liability. Remote year doesn’t share tax advice and our HR team is small. Curious to hear from people at companies who have done it before and if there were any issues from a tax or payroll perspective. Trying to get the formal approval from my company before officially signing up, advice welcome!
