Wow so you are actually penalized for using vacation days?

like

OP, I don't think anyone's going to have 100% utilization targets 🤣

likefunny

Holiday hours are not counted in the denominator for utilization calculations

like

@OP - correct. When you are on the bench they encourage you to use your vacation so it doesn’t hit your utilization

like

Pto is excluded from the denominator too. At least in acn

like

Our utilization targets aren’t 100% tho. For seniors it’s 85%

45-50hrs/wk caps. Just in case I want to roll off a project and chill for a while

like

So you actually charge extra time? That must be nice... I’ve been in consulting for 6 years and never charged anything different from 8 hrs

like

At IBM they both hurt you

No. Denominator is a fixed # of hours (2080 for deloitte)

Yes we do

Yep. Vacation and holidays are excluded at capgemini?

I have 107%

D1, seems 107% reasonable 😁 why so high?

A1 - for projects in my area, 45 is the expected.

45 is standard

Thoughts on buying a vacation property in South Lake Tahoe? I know the area I want, so if not this one now, another one on that same street someday later. Right time to buy? Is this a good deal? Challenges or issues I'm not forseeing? Put 20% or pay in full? Might consider renting out as Airbnb when not in use, but even if not it's still affordable. HOA includes painting, deck repairs, ground maintenance, water, trash, cable TV and snow removal up to front door.

Need advice. My mom has graciously offered to be full-time grandma daycare as I return to work. The problem is we have wildly different parenting styles and I really really want her to do it my way for a couple of the really important ones like nap schedules and feeding schedules. She flat out is ignoring me and we had a huge blowout fight where she pretty much said she didn't want to do this anymore. What should I do? Find a nanny that would do it my way? Or give in to my mom?
