Supply chain management roles in industry: With your experience in supply chain consulting, you may be well-suited for a supply chain management position in industry. This could involve managing operations, logistics, procurement, or other areas of the supply chain.
Operations or logistics management roles: Depending on your specific expertise and experience, you may also be a good fit for operations or logistics management positions in industry. These roles often involve overseeing the day-to-day operations of a facility or warehouse, managing transportation and distribution networks, and ensuring that products are delivered on time and on budget.
Procurement or sourcing roles: Another potential option for someone with supply chain consulting experience is to transition into procurement or sourcing roles in industry. These positions involve managing relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that the organization is getting the best possible value from its suppliers.
Industry-specific roles: Depending on the industry you worked in before becoming a consultant, you may also be able to transition back into a role in that industry. For example, if you have experience in the healthcare industry, you could look for supply chain roles in hospitals or pharmaceutical companies.
Entrepreneurship: If you have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, you may want to consider starting your own business. With your supply chain expertise, you could potentially start a consulting firm or a company that specializes in supply chain management.
Overall, there are many potential exit opportunities for supply chain consultants who are interested in transitioning back to industry. The key is to identify the areas of the supply chain that you are most interested in and to network with industry professionals to find potential job openings. Good luck with your job search!
I joined a few days ago, and this is the second time someone thought it was Ai generated. The first time it was the poster! Then they wanted to chat privately…cringy.
Depends on what you really want to do. Maybe what you need is a break from work or a change off company. Are you interested in manufacturing or healthcare?
I think I really just want a change from consulting. I’m just realizing it’s not for me. I love supply chain, but consulting is not for me. So that’s why I don’t want to be a supply chain consultant. But a break from work would be nice as well!
