Are there any jobs for accounting/finance professionals that are anywhere near as interesting as forensics? I love what I do but the volatility of hours and unpredictable schedule are starting to wear on me. At the same time I can’t imagine doing something as dull as accounting, audit, compliance, etc. every day

Partners with kids and a working spouse, how do you manage? Is it realistic for both people in the relationship to work full time long term? How do you keep marriage going and career progressing?

Left big law as a 5th year. Currently working at a small firm, billing around 5 hours per day, firm typically makes partners around year 7. Huge pay cut, but loans paid off and I have way more time for hobbies/self care. Life is good. AMA.

Too many cooks in the kitchen

I love my job in special education, the job may bring quite a bit of stress and exhaustion but nothing compares to the stress of the related service team. OT, PT, speech, BCBA, social worker, etc etc is really what’s killing me this year. It is 23 days into the school year and the team members all make different plans and as a result, nothing is being accomplished. And if paraprofessionals follow ie what OT says but not PT, it cause so much unnecessary conflict!

Or is it better to have "projects highlights" separate from work experience.. something like: intro>functional expertise> project highlights>work experience>education?

Anyone else get frustrated when the partner brags about their billable hour amount for the month? Like congrats, you get to bill .2 for each piece of mail. For the CFE, did you do anything in addition to the ACFE prep course? The course is just practice questions, so I’m wondering where I can actually learn the information first before that.
