I contribute to my 401(k) and that's it. I should be saving more, but I literally just can't afford it. I've even even thought about stopping my 401(k) contributions to contribute the extra money to the student loans because I feel like my loans are growing faster than I can pay them off. What's the point of retiring if I'm still having to pay hundreds of dollars per month on my student loans?
I pay the minimums on my student loans and max out my 401k and Roth IRA yearly. I pay around 16k annually in loans

My state has a pension plan, and 15% is automatically taken out of my checks. My district is also required to match the contribution.
I just know if it were left up to me, I wouldn't save it. I feel really grateful that retirement is not something I need to worry about.
My retirement wage will be the average of my three highest earning years.
My wife and I graduated in 20212/2013. We were really fortunate to work at a place with a generous employer match. We took advantage of the flexibility PSLF afforded us to contribute enough to get that match and contribute to a Roth IRA. When Covid hit and payments were paused, we rolled all of those payments into retirement savings. So we’re in pretty good shape thanks to PSLF.
You definitely did the right thing lol. As a matter of fact, I just hired an attorney from another nonprofit and she left for the same reason. Their benefits were better (slightly), but our pay is definitely higher.
Dude get rid of the loans so you can breathe lol
Nope! Not a dime. Between rent, household expenses, saving for a house, and loans, I don't have any left over to do this
