Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Hi Fishes, I am bit confused to pick the role in KPMG lighthouse as Sr Cloud Data architect or Saama technology as a Project lead. Money wise it is not a big difference. In KPMG I will work with partner where as in saama I will work with project/program manager. Please suggest your opinion. Saama KPMG KPMG India

34 year partner----I love it when people ask questions and challenge how an item is treated . It shows me they are thinking and I am not the only one focused on the work. We always deliver a better product when the team is focused. Having said that I am happy to explain the right way once but be careful about going on and on. There is nothing more tiresome than a staff that will not take direction
So basically OP you strong armed your manager into doing things your way. So you want to be the alpha even above your manager. Yeah i am sure that will go well.
OP is drunk, or an idiot
I am far from a conformist. I am just not one to shoot myself in the foot either. There are plenty of things i think shoukd be changed and many things i have changed, but you need to know what battles to fight. If a manager is confortabke doing something a certain way because they can make sense of it, I can suggest something new and have the manager try it. If i see it doesn't work for the manager then i put it back. You are there to work, not to make your managers life more difficult.
@ Specialist 1: I totally agree with you. Far more things can be achieved with the Manager on your side. Better to leave the arrogance out of such discussions.
Errr are you still on opt?
Let's leave it here
You're on a student visa?
And you're a senior 1? In risk? Coz no way accounting gives you opt long enough to reach senior 1
I cam say I'm on student visa and for. But why is that a matter of concern for this topic
Coz it doesn't makes sense to be s1 and on student visa. EY also is no longer accepting cpt
Yah, all big for doing away with that, so i guess it doesn't matter then lol
Any manager worth their salt will appreciate constructive evaluation of the workpapers and approach but you need to do it respectfully. If it sounds like you are just trying to be lazy and get out of work then yeah you are probably not looking good in their eyes. But I have always been encouraged to ask the question if it doesn't make sense why we are doing something the way we are doing it. Worst case they say just do it anyway.
Idiot maybe.
I did join big 4 you know, so definitely an idiot
I'm senior. She did finally agree to my approach.
But thanks for the appreciation partner.
Why is everyone so conformist
