I don't have a lot of experience with this but have been considering what my path will be, and I honestly don't know of anything other than pushing through. The other options are not going to keep you on the path you want to be on, unless you do something out of the industry altogether
Oof.. this industry is rough for the burnout... a couple different things I've done to combat it,
1) change clinics. Sometimes a new clinic can bring a fresh perspective and new learning opportunities.
2) change patients species. Find a large animal or exotic vet. Get you working with different things and challenging your b4ain again. Not to mention when you go to be certified you gotta learn all the things anyways might as well have experience!!
3) Wildlife conservation or zoos. The residents need care too. Often places have a vet on staff or at least technicians with a stocked clinic. You help animals in a different way. Rehabbing them from injured to release, or making sire they have the best care while they live out their remaining days at the facility. Also the amount of crazy and intriguing cases you get is amazing!! On this same type of topic, you could change careers a little and be a zookeeper and work with the animals more making their meals, gaining their trust, teaching/training them in the ways you can so they can be ambassadors for their species and stories. The zoo industry gets a LOT of hate. Some definitely worthy... but there is still a LOT of organizations who are still conservation based and strive to the best they can for the animals.
I'm fairly new to the profession so I don't really know. I think you should decide based on what you really want aside from being a technician in this field. Good luck!
How about some desk or admin jobs? Perhaps an assistant or a receptionist?
Something like dog training in a specialty hospital would be ideal. You still get to stay in the field. Anyway, it depends on whether you want a clinic setting or something totally different.
