What are actionable items one should strive for when trying to grow as a designer after landing their first role? I hear a lot about ways to grow to land the first job but very little about how to improve after you know the basics.

I feel like every company lies about “working your way up.” You’re never allowed to blatantly say that you don’t like your position and you’d like to transition to HR or Finance. It’s almost as if once you get in claims, you’re stuck.

If you’re a manager and you see an employee that wants to branch out into a different department, why would you keep them boxed in for 2+ years?

I’ve been proposed an exit as Product Owner at a real company, not a consulting one. Staff seems nice, good culture, good salary (less than consulting but well), BUT I would have to move countries for that job and start a new life.

I don’t think people understand what the difference between conservative and liberal judicial philosophies are. Liberal judges see the Constitution as guidelines for the court to interpret and then cement things into law that they deem reflect the current mood of the day, essentially serving as a tool for policymaking outside of the legislative branch. I have been giving a few interviews lately and every Company is asking me to confirm if i can get my NP reduced from 90 Days to 45 or 60 Days. I'm still under probation but assigned to a Project already. Should I ask my Account Manager and HR about it or its unethical to do so. Am i making a mistake to ask and confirm about NP even before my offer letter or its ok to just enquire what's the process and possibility to reduce NP as we have buyout option too.

Started a new job search about 2 weeks ago. Of the 14 recruiter screening calls I’ve gone through, all went amazingly well, and I’ve only heard back at all from 4 since the calls. Why?

I had two recruiters today reschedule a meeting. And this is the second time rescheduling. Honesty, not sure what value recruiters bring. Is this common now? Is it hard to have respect for people’s time and their schedule? Reschedule once I can understand. But twice is just stupidity. I hope AI wipes out all bad recruiters who don’t give af.
