Why do you refuse to get your CPA? The easiest way for an auditor to transition to consulting is probably to move into accounting advisory, FDD, valuations, forensics, or restructuring, but each of these will highly prefer or even require the CPA.

Otherwise you’ll probably need to get a MBA, a very strong network, or at least some similar certs.

If you don’t want to do any of the above then you’re best exit is probably looking at either:
-“Consulting” in risk advisory
-Internal audit or compliance
-Staff/senior accountant at a private company
-If you’re very very lucky maybe FP&A or investor relations

Definitely get yourself into a cheap easy PT MBA program to throw on your resume

Tax, finance or erp systems (implementations/ upgrades/ data cleanup) for smaller companies--netsuite, oracle, sap, sage, even qb).

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
