Avid gamer here. Recently noticed Xbox's new leadership faces some weird sort of backlash (though 99% of it comes from people with little to no awareness of how stuff works in corporate) because she has no industry experience.

My point would be that she's apparently a product/GTM wizard.

For those roles (EVP), DYT that being a strategic powerhouse capable through functional expertise outweigh industry exposure? Or, to grab a role, a "product fan" or a pure subject matter expert matters more?

It’s only my 1st month in the position and I’m having trouble feeling as though people are complacent and often times careless with peoples lives.
