If you haven’t been canned before Christmas, you ain’t in advertising.
If you have accrued but unused PTO, they pay you out for that. If you’ve got “unlimited” PTO, they don’t owe you for any unused PTO and so you won’t get paid out. And if you get let go before the holidays, you don’t get paid during the holidays. Even if your severance period extends through the holidays, you don’t get any sort of credit for company paid holidays. As OP indicated, it sucks.
A big agency did that to me once. The day after the agency Christmas party.
I quit before the holidays and they wanted me gone before the holiday PTO lmao, so I highly doubt they are getting both holiday PTO and severance on top of it.
The canning before Christmas is fine I’m specifically wondering if the person gets the holiday week of time still or they lose that? Agency’s don’t owe us anything but that gets to be unprofessional at that point
In most cases it nothing to 2 weeks.
Got laid off right before Thanksgiving week. Just given the bare minimum severance, nothing for the holiday time.
