There are a number of excellent resources available to learn Apache Spark and Databricks, including books, online courses, tutorials, and documentation. Here are a few suggestions:
1. "Learning Spark: Lightning-Fast Big Data Analysis" by Holden Karau, Andy Konwinski, Patrick Wendell, and Matei Zaharia. This is a comprehensive and well-written book that covers the fundamentals of Spark, including RDDs, dataframes, and SQL.
2. "Spark: The Definitive Guide" by Bill Chambers and Matei Zaharia. This book is published by O'Reilly, and it covers a wide range of topics related to Spark, including architecture, programming, performance, and deployment.
3. The Databricks documentation. Databricks provides extensive documentation on Spark, including tutorials, examples, and API reference. This is a great resource for learning the basics of Spark and how to use it with Databricks.
4. Coursera's "Scalable Machine Learning" course. This course, taught by Professor Ameet Talwalkar of UCLA, covers the fundamentals of machine learning and big data analytics using Spark.
Are you using Databricks or AWS? There are a number of udemy courses with a good amount of reviews that cover the basics. DataCamp also has a course, but their format removes you from those two environments which are necessary skills to have in my opinion and don’t give you a full understanding of how to design compute-responsible code.
I’m using databricks. Thank you for the detailed info!
Look up Ramesh Retnasany on udemy, thank me later
Databricks academy is a thing…
This.
Be sure to understand spark first before diving into how to use pyspark. How you write code has a big impact on performance.
