I wouldn’t give much weight to being flown anywhere. That’s very limited information but from my experience, you could be great but if they found some who is good enough, they are going to do whatever is economically feasible. Also, if this person appeared after you met with them, that could be the writing on the wall.
Why don't you ask them if there's an offer for you?
Question: are the company and group of investors keeping me around until they successfully on board new person, or will they genuinely hire me on?
