Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Lol damn do they have 22-40 year olds working in the same role? Why the huge range?
No consultant or analyst for that matter is making 60k.
As a consultant you’re looking at at least 110k - 140k base.
Some folks don’t want additional people management responsibility and are just SMEs with a crapload of exp so there may be a few outliers pushing 200 at the consultant level
Left consulting last year. Work for a tech company now. Not FANG.
- High level Resume walk through and understanding of Skillset / Qualifications.
They use this to understand which competency you will align with, best. And then they will match it with their current requirements.
Keep in mind that they will not hire you unless they have an immediate need to fill in a position that you’re a fit for.
- Then they will tell you about Slalom and what they do - history etc.
- Comp expectations
- Location Constraints
- Availability
That’s pretty much it.
It will be a chill, friendly conversation.
Next Steps - Based on all the above info, they will connect you (telephonic interview) with somebody from the team they think you will be a fit for.
^ not true. I know consultants in Atlanta making in the 80s
I’m already at 130 base. Can I realistically expect a 20% bump?
SA1 - wow 😮
Damn OP, which firm?
You probably won’t get much of a jump. Tbh
How did the conversation go, OP?
Depends on your years of experience. I noticed in the last couple years they’ve gotten more “conservative” in their offers. If you have, say, <5 years of experience, you might not crack $100k for example.
Was looking at their Salesforce practice recently asking 130 and they said they couldn’t afford me 🤷♀️ took Accenture’s offer instead
