Can anyone from CRO or sponsor provide some more information on why companies are hesitant to hire managers/coordinators from sites. I always get feedback back on how they need industry experience or the company needs vendor management/on-site monitoring skills. But isn’t the site operation integral to the industry roles?

We outsource our payroll function. But as the head of HR in a rapidly-growing business but still young, I'm still managing a portion of the administrative burdens related to payroll, PTO, insurance, etc. Recruiting, full onboarding duties, and company policies are among SOME other tasks I own. Beyond this, everytime the word "compliance" arises, immediately, it's put on my plate. My company stretches the word "onboarding" to when we bring on subcontractors, it is again an "HR thing." Thoughts?

I’m looking to transition from an academic medical center to pharma or a biotech. I have about 8 years of clinical research experience overall — 7 years combined as a CRC (CRC I, CRC II, and senior CRC) and 1 year as a PM. I’m also recently ACRP-CP certified.

I’ve worked with many different industry-sponsors and CROs throughout the years, but many jobs I am applying to require experience at a biotech/CRO/pharma company. Would really appreciate any advice or referrals. Thanks in advance!
