I think it’s over with my SO of 3 years. He tells me he loves me and wants to work things through but has lied to me several times in the past - some which were the same mistake three times. He knows he needs professional help (he’s also on antidepressants and has PTSD) but I don’t know how I can trust him again. Feeling completely broken - cannot believe the situation we’re in. I’m so sad my heart is breaking and I don’t know what to do

Any suggestions for getting kids to do homework? Sped Math 6th grade high need area - I cannot get these kids to turn in hw. Anyone agree with the idea of allowing class time for HW? I am at a loss

When my parents call I don’t answer and call back 4 hours later. I tell them I’m busy but I’m just hanging out here in FB, playing ps5 or online shopping.

I’m so scared to let a relationship that gives me anxiety go because I’m 36 F and feel like I’m not going to find anyone else. He’s not a horrible person, but he can be inconsistent. When I bring it up to him he says he’ll try harder but then always goes back to default. I stick around because I think it’s more a personality trait and not that he’s not interested in me (maybe I’m naïve). Could really use some encouragement from a bunch of strangers.

I think I want to be in relationship, but I fear that I actually am just lonely and not actually ready for relationship.
I desperatly want someone that I can spend time with, laugh with, and tell good news to amongst so much else.
I don't know what to do or if anything can be done...

Okay finance gurus, I have an idea and interested in your thoughts. Might be a bad one so be gentle 🙂. I have a 2 yr old and another on the way. Need to start planning for college. I was thinking of buying a condo or 2 in lieu of saving and selling them down the line for tuition. Condos downtown are pretty inexpensive (T3) so it’s financially feasible. But is this a good idea or too risky?

My partner of 5 years ended our relationship last night. I’m shattered and feel absolutely sick, and I know the healing isn’t going to be easy. We were on the verge of an engagement and I was ready to spend the rest of my life with him.

I don’t know how to approach work during this time. I think I can get by, but I’m definitely not 100%. Should I talk to my boss about it? My team is close-knit and comfortable around each other, but I don’t know if it’s “appropriate.” What would you do?

How do I figure out spending with my SO? Initially I was paying for 90% of stuff (no actual bills, just going out). I talked to her and said we need to be more even. She was never proactive. She kind of got offended but we ended on a good note to split things. It went well for a couple weeks but now it's back to normal. She never takes out her card and only venmos me if I send her the request. She lets Venmos sit for weeks before paying them. I still let a lot of things slide.

What do you do about your house plants if both you and your SO are out of the house for an extended period? I could move some of the smaller ones to friends, but there are planters that are attached to balcony and patio. Any ideas 🐠?

Every night for like the past month I’ve been getting incredibly emotional about adulthood. I miss the lack of responsibility, the simplicity of life, friends were always around, and less pressure to be successful.

Anyone have slow months where you burn through a lot of your allotted pro bono/professional development hours to keep hitting minimum daily hours? The past few weeks have been like this for me. Should I be concerned (I.e., will this reflect poorly on me, come review time? Will I have dug myself too much of a hole if I keep burning my non-billable hours?) I accepted a 95k systems engineer role in VA with KBR and is currently going thru a clearance.(MAY START DATE)
Northrop offers me 92k w/ 3k sign on which is 30 min from home in MD for an associate systems role. They also want to give me a clearance but it will start as an interim so I can work sooner than may. MY DILEMMA: Kbr states that they know I need money now so I can accept an offer with Northrop to see if I like it until may.BUT can I have 2 security clearances running at the same time?

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. been in industry (small companies) for 5 years with an active CPA. Wanted to get in SEC reporting roles but almost every company requires 2-year public accounting exp. Now applying for public accounting firms entry level positions but almost all firms HR asked if I had ever worked in firms. Got rejection emails from firms all the time. Is this a dead lock? firms exp matters much more than a CPA license?
