Used to be full day at PWC back in the day when I took it. Probably the same now. Have no clue about Deloitte though.. Reach out to HR and ask?

like

PwC you get the day of the exam off and the day before to study

like

PwC got ride of that 5 years ago but it was never enforced. It will depend on the managers and seniors.

like

I think we allow half days for taking the exam, not a full day. Not sure how it is at PwC

like

It was a full day when I took the exam 3 years ago.

like

When I worked at DT i think we got 4 days to study? I think it was PRA code? It's been a while idk

like

PwC 2 is right, we get two full days. The day before the exam and the day of the exam.

Partners - Do you ever take vacations?

I have been at my current firm for about 1.5 years, and in that entire time the partner in my group hasn't been out of the office a single time. Is that normal? I can't tell if it's standard for big law partners to not take time off, if the dynamics for my group may be different (only 1 partner in the entire group), or it the partner I work with is just a masochist.

Has anyone successfully made the career move from an HR specialization to an HRBP role? If so, how? I have been working for 7 years in a very niche HR specialization and while I wear many hats on the HR team, I feel like this is hard to express to recruiters or even get an interview for an HRBP role. My niche area has really burnt me out, as it’s very political and I want to expand my horizons. I am already working on completing my GPHR certification. Any other tips?

I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?

My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at
Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.

L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.

I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!
