250k base + stock options of uncertain value

Late stage SaaS/FinTech startup

10 YOE (4 in biglaw and 6 in-house)

Fully Remote

Relatively low hours (~30ish hours a week, often less)

Feels like just enough to stick around since quality of life is predictable.

250 base for fully remote and low hours seems great imo, depends on your life priorities

This is low for 10yoe. I have 6yoe and am at $232k base plus 25% bonus and 25% equity on an international exchange for reference.

Wouldn’t go into SaaS FinTech right now…

Stripe and Ramp are the only ones taken seriously by F500

Isn’t best case scenario with these getting acquired? And that usually means you’re out of a job…

Ramp? If yes, do it

Currently working as a part/time remote contractor (jr role) for a company based in/incorporated in the British Virgin Islands as a side hustle.
The non-compete mentions I cannot work for a “direct” or “indirect” competitor during or for 2 years after working with my current company.
I’m based in the US but may move abroad to Asia at some point this year. Will this noncompete be valid/enforceable? Thx for the feedback 🐠

Ideas please:

I’m inheriting a “team” of siloed strong individual developers who are on different work streams and are very jaded and struggling with motivation. Most are contractors. They have legit gripes about the client, but I won’t be able to solve those without getting cross-discussions going with knowledge-sharing across our “team“. Any suggestions for remote team-building that won’t just be shrugged off with cynicism, or worse, ignored?

When you say your salary jumped __x, how is that exactly calculated?

Mine was $16k (minimum wage before joining corporate) > $40k (contractor total before getting laid off) > $150k (current FT)?

Is that a 260% jump or 2.6x from $16k to $40k?
And a 375% jump or 3.75x from $40k to $150k?

Or do I calculate it by hourly rate?

When I moved in-house a year ago as a BigLaw mid-level, I took a 45% pay cut, far more than I was comfortable with (although I was fine with a 20-30% cut). I took the job because it was a great role and I was focused on making the jump in house and developing the skills I wanted, which required me moving away from my firm practice area. Now that my year-end review is coming up, how do I ask my company for a significant pay raise (not just a 2-5% inflation-matching raise)?
