Condo 1: 750 sq ft. 1 bed plus den, 2020 build. Small kitchen/living room area (25x15 or so). Mid/high end finishes. $770k. Condo 2: 850 sq ft. Loft-style 1 bed (top of bedroom wall is open), huge kitchen and living room (10 ft island). 2002 build. $799k. Condo 2 has more amenities. They’re a block away from each other. Is it stupid to pick condo 1 over condo 2? I like the idea of an actual bedroom and a den. And I like that it’s newer. But the price per sq ft is so much worse.

Personally, I'd want a mix of both so I'd likely keep searching. However I also don't get the appeal of condos so I'm sure that impacts my thoughts lol

That's insane! I tend to stay 30-40 min out from cities though based on personal preference. I know even that though around some cities can be quite pricey and everyone's lifestyles and preferences are so different. Best of luck in whichever you choose! (And also fingers crossed for a good price with this crazy market!)

Could you get the older one and finish building the wall down the road?

Then it would have no natural light coming in :/

How are HOA fees?

They’re about the same.

I would go for bigger one because no one else is living there so who cares if the bedroom doesn’t have full walls.

If you work from home or want an office that sounds useful. Otherwise, it’s really small and I would rather have the big kitchen and living room.

1 bedroom with a den still sounds like a better deal to me even if it’s 100 less sq ft.

Hi all,

I just got a job with Delta airlines and I had an accomodation request to work remotely as I am Immunocompromised. I provided all the neccesary documents to back up my request and letters and documents from my Dr. aswell. My request was denied because the team said they wanted me to have face time and one on one interactions with people from other team (which defeats the purpose of my request) because I have to limit those interactions to reduce the risk of infection. What do I do?

In an auto accident trial, can you inform the jury in any way that the at-fault driver had insurance? I have a hard time believing a jury would award 7-figure damages if they thought the little old lady defendant had to personally pay. I’m just starting to do PI on the side by myself at my firm, so this is probably a very dumb and obvious question.

Y’all I am struggling on these “light” home improvement projects we decided to take on with a recent house purchase. Plan was just to replace carpets, paint some walls, and replace kitchen appliances. Now added on new faucets, other bathroom hardware / mirrors / toilets / medicine cabinets / exhaust fans, baseboard recaulking and cleanup, kitchen sliding door, ceiling fan rewiring and install, window replacements… how do I rein it in?? So stressed out and we keep delaying move in. 🤯😱😭

I'm early in my career, managed to save $30K to invest, and want to get my hands dirty with a rental property without too much risk (e.g. no HML/flipping). It sounds like that's a tall order in the NY/CT area given the prices, not to mention whether I'd be able to get a mortgage on anything below $100K, but I figure I'll give it a shot anyway.
