Yeah it's complicated as any pension. You get 5k right away after three years and then from 2.25 percent to 11.5 percent of your salary per year depending on your age and years of service. Interest is avg yield of 30 year securities as of march but not less than five percent. Hope it helps.

@op what do you know about it? I haven't heard of this in intrigued

You really want to stay in public accounting for a while? Because that's the only reason why you would want it.

Yeah, I do plan on staying in for a while.

@AA1, i know thats its fairly new. I want to know what % of your salary you receive at retirement, and if you controbute or only the company does.

wish you could message me direct. its complicated. but very lucrative. heck. send me an email at jameskuhl@rocketmail.com

When I started mid 2016 they were giving 7k right away, but otherwise agree with ^

If we have a prolonged recession because COVID lingers much longer than we had hoped, won’t the consulting be kind of fucked for the next 1-2 years? Are there any good ways to make money outside of a typical career job? I’ve tried audit and currently in advisory. The job just makes me depressed, and I’m thinking the accounting space just isn’t for me. My husband works, so I don’t have to worry with medical benefits etc if I quit. We don’t have kids yet so I need something to keep me busy, and I would like to still have an income and make decent money. Any ideas?

Seeking advice - have 2 competing offers. First opportunity is in consulting (ACN) and the other is in industry with similar responsibilities as consulting. Industry opp company is a startup. I’ll have to take a cut of $13k in base + bonus + 401k match in industry vs consulting offer. Industry opp is at a Director level for strategy & operations and involves client management. Would really appreciate your input. Thanks!
