When I called HR i got a surprise answer..
They mentioned the position which I have intervied is different than the salary rem ranges. And my current salary is higher than position what they have got and asked for approval for rem ranges changes..
Is any one faced this? Ideally HR should know expectation and allocation before scheduling intervjew..
I am bit confused with commonwealt

Hmm where are you now OP? Vancouver does offer beautiful scenery and proximity to ocean if that’s your thing
Also side note - any chance you can share more about your experience working at providers? I’m thinking of doing the same :)
Thank you! Just messaged. And wow Hawaii will be hard to beat w your setup 😅
I guess I'm confused on how your husband is depressed living in Hawaii, and how a move to Canada will make things better? I just don't know if moving from one location to another will really change that. Maybe you should look into help/guidance for him?
I'd also say that there's a lot of variety within the US so, if Hawaii isn't necessarily the place you both see long-term, then you could look into other US states.
190k is solid middle class income in Vancouver, it's not that much but I guess that depends on what you're used to paying for housing/living expenses. Rent is easily 4k per month for a mid level 1-2bd apartment. Food is about 15% of your income depending on if you eat home or not, I eat at home and its 15% but I buy organic/real food. Home buying is not an option unless you have 20% saved and thats easily 150k for a 2-3bd in a safe neighborhood in an outlying area. Homes are 1million+ in metro Vancouver in the safe areas, and they are all mid or early century so they cost alot to keep up and modernize plus taxes. Vehicles are about double the annual cost as US. Is that enough for you? When its all said and done, after you get done working to live your best life, you are doing more working than playing and it's all worthless in the end if you cant play, right?
4K for a 1 bed is such an exaggeration. 2.5-3 for a 1 bed. And I’m sure closer to 4K for 2 bed, but I still think the higher end of average. Don’t be scaremongering people.
To give an example, I work at Morgan Stanley and make 140k Cad in Canada. Same job in the states pays between 175k and 200k USD base with upto 100% bonus. In Canada I’m lucky to make 20%. Another example, my mother is a senior executive for a US Mid CaP software company. She has someone way down her reporting line who is a Jr. PM with 4 yrs experience making 180kUSD remote in New Jersey and there boss makes 120k Cad in Toronto with 15 years experience.
