This really isn't complicated. You don't owe him anything. Just tell him that you are not required to be his audience. And really, the problem with politics lately is that discussions aren't really about politics. It's mostly just people repeating the disinformation fed to them via social media. If you tell people you're not interested in the latest crackpot rant they picked up on Facebook that can help get the message across.
I’ve told him I’m uncomfortable with these types of conversations and he isnt getting it. The discussions are 100% about politics but thanks for your insight. He instigates and asks me questions to the point other coworkers are noticing hes pissing me off. I have a strong call to justice, but I also know it is not my responsibility to educate him and I’ve told him so. He is not taking no for an answer
