Curious if anyone has made the switch from Presales/Solutions Engineer to Account Executive in their career, and specifically not at the same company, and has some advice on job hunting when every AE opening wants AE experience. I want to make this switch, am confident that I’d be successful, however, current company has no roles open, and when they do, BDR promotions are prioritized.

I hear a lot of talk about how claims adjusting is a lot of work and very demanding but I think my current position has prepared me for the challenge. Saw my therapist this past Friday and he gave me a useful trick to build better behavior patterns. Whenever you have work to do but would rather nap or something, tell yourself 3 negative effects of the nap and 3 positive effects of doing the work. You might still take the nap, but if you can get in the habit of thinking of it negatively, you'll take less naps when you need to be doing other things.

Doesn't matter what the activities are. Could be working out vs eating more, could be socializing IRL vs wasting time in FB (lol)

I am a personal injury defense attorney and I’ve never done plaintiff’s work. I have a case where I suspect the plaintiff is malingering and exaggerating his injuries. The plaintiffs attorney has sent me multiple demands for $3 million dollars and basically begged me to respond with some offer. Just accepted an opportunity as a district manager for an Insurance company. Not 100% sure about Commission-based only.
