Strategy. Great ones lean into the fact that they are support players for great creative, but some over complicate things to death and introduce so much drag/friction due to intellectual ego. Love my good ones though!!!
All great responses. But it’s account, sometimes by a lot. Account can be soul crushing and energy draining when it’s run poorly. Being a client’s pet and an unconditional yes-person, treating creative like an assembly line or short-order cook, being a hissy fit-prone reactionary, a thrower under the bus type… these are all horrible traits and unfortunately all too common within account.
It doesn’t help when creatives imagine they are the only ones who can generate ideas when all they’re doing is regurgitating the same ideas they’ve been pushing for years.

Least fav to deal with are people who know literally nothing about production. Like, I know a little bit about your job, because you’re part of the ecosystem. How come you don’t know about mine? They don’t even hire senior account people with an ask to have ever worked on productions. Cray.

Anyone who takes 1 hour to meet when it could have been done in 15 minutes. Just don’t have the time to be a therapist or hang out on a Zoom call while you talk to yourself. Maybe back when agencies had a lot more people. But not now.

Bunch of ‘yes’ men/women. Bending to every demand of the client and having the group account director pressure the GCD and thereby pressuring us to not push back on anything. Not the timing, the senseless feedback, the budget, the ask etc. unless it’s ridiculously hilarious.

Legal told us once that we had to cut a 1 second shot from a social video where you could see horses in the distance through the windshield because we didn’t get a release for the horses.

I value and appreciate everyone, but in terms of petty grievances, social teams sometimes irk me when almost everything revolves around fleeting trends vs original social ideas. Also, I can’t stand anyone who works in advertising and refuses to use social media.
personally… other than finance (lol) it’d be strategy. not that i don’t love my fellow strategists (i adore those i work with) but having your hard work dissected into “how many likes on social” and “engagement rates” or whatever artificial results they spent media money on is a bit disheartening
