I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. Ratios of Admins to Attys at your big law? My firm has first through fourth year associates using a pool system and assigns 5th years and up to an admin. Each admin has 7-9 attys. Word on the street is ratios may increase. Trying to get centralized billing so admins do less. Meanwhile they can’t seem to keep our billing folks from leaving.
